Exporting and deleting a project

Download the project as JSON

1. Open the Data tab

   Open the project and click Data in the tab strip.

2. Download

   Press Download JSON. The file is named after the project, such as The Last Reel.json.

The file is plain JSON, so a script, a spreadsheet tool or another app can read it.

In the file	What you get
Project	Title, logline, format, genre, status and dates.
Scenes	Every scene, with its heading, page count, status and description.
Characters	Every character and their description.
Locations	Every location and its details.
Storyboards	Every storyboard, with its panels.

Rows you deleted are in the file too, each with the date it was deleted.

What the file leaves out

The budget, schedule, shots, call sheets, team and deal memos are not in it, and neither are pictures or footage. Most of those tabs have their own export:

1. Budget exports the budget as a PDF.
2. Schedule has the Day Out of Days report as a PDF or CSV.
3. Shot List, Call Sheets and Deal Memos each download their own file.
4. Team & Access exports the contact list as a PDF.
5. CinemaCutter sends a cut to Premiere, Final Cut, Avid and others.

Delete a project

1. Download first

   Press Download JSON and keep the file.

2. Press Delete Project

   It is the red box at the bottom of the Data tab.

3. Confirm

   Press Delete in the window. You go back to the dashboard, and the project is gone from your list.

Deleting marks the project deleted but erases nothing. There is no restore button for a whole project. To get one back, contact support.

Deleting a single row

Rows deleted from a list tab work another way. In a tab such as Scenes or Characters, a deleted row is hidden. Show Deleted brings it back into view, and Restore on its row undoes the delete.
