Cinema Set Free Crew
The set, in everyone's pocket.
Call sheets, comms, errands and capture — one app, no group texts.
Every person on the crew gets today's call sheet, their department's channel, and the errands assigned to them. The production office gets read receipts, a live map of who's where, and every photo shot on set filed against the right scene.
- iPhone and Android
- Scan-to-join — no account setup for day players
- Free for crew
The app crew actually opens
Crew apps fail for one reason: they ask a grip at 5am to create an account, join an org, and find a document. This one is a QR code on the call sheet. Scan it, you're on the production, and the only thing on screen is today.
Access is scoped to one production per invite, and any device can be revoked from the office — by the crew member or the PM.
What crew get
Today's call sheet
Pushed to every recipient, with their own call time on top. The office sees who has opened it — so chasing acknowledgements stops being a phone-tree exercise.
Department chat
You're auto-joined to your own department's channel; the PM can grant cross-department access when a day needs it. No one has to maintain a group text with 40 numbers in it.
Opt-in contact sheet
Share your number with your department if you want to be reachable, and tap to call. Opt in, not opt out — a crew list is not a mailing list.
Errands and runner dispatch
Assigned, en route, done. Runners update status from the truck; the office board moves in real time instead of over the walkie.
Live crew map
Runners who are sharing location appear on a map with a short movement trail, so 'where is the pickup' has an answer. Sharing is per-person and can be turned off.
Capture that files itself
Shoot photos and video in the app and they attach to the scene, location, scout item or errand you were on — not to a camera roll nobody will ever sort.
Video village on your phone
Watch the live feed from the connected camera when you can't be at the monitor, without another box on the cart.
3D location scans
Walk a room with the phone and it becomes a navigable 3D scan the department heads can walk through from the office.
Revocable, per-production access
One invite grants one production. Devices are listed and revocable, and wrap means access ends — not an ex-crew member with the schedule forever.
The other end of it
What crew do in the app arrives in the production office like this.

Get the crew app
Two native builds. Both are handed out directly while the store listings are set up.
iPhone and iPad
The crew app with a fully native camera — capture runs through real Swift camera code, not a browser file picker, so on-set stills and video are the quality you'd expect.
iOS 16 or later
- 01Email us for an invite, or ask your production coordinator.
- 02Install Apple's TestFlight app, then accept the invite.
- 03Scan the QR code on your call sheet — or sign in with Google, Apple, Facebook or a magic link.
Android
A separate, fully native Kotlin and Compose app — not the iOS build in a wrapper. Sign-in, projects, the crew map, errands and comms all built against Android directly.
Android 8.0 or later
- 01Email us for the current build.
- 02Allow installs from your browser or file manager when Android asks.
- 03Scan the QR code on your call sheet to join the production.
Production office
The other half: publish call sheets, dispatch errands, watch the map, and review everything the crew captured. Nothing to install — it's the Cinema Set Free dashboard you already have.
Any modern browser
- 01Open your production and add the crew to the team.
- 02Publish a call sheet — app crew get it in-app, everyone else by email.
- 03Print the join QR on the call sheet so day players can scan in.
The crew app is free for crew. Camera capture on Android is still coming — everything else on this page ships on both platforms today.

'Coming' means the feature exists on the other platform and the port is scheduled — not that it's an idea. Where the app can't push yet, changes surface in-app and by email.
Questions people actually ask
No. A QR code on the call sheet joins someone to that one production as a guest. Accounts matter for people who work across several productions.
Put your next day on it
Publish one call sheet through the app and watch the acknowledgements come back on their own.
