Where to find it

Open a ready scan. If it came from a LiDAR phone, a Layout box sits under the summary line. A Photo scan has no rough model to measure, so it has no layout.

The first time you open it, the box reads Measuring the room… for a moment.

What it shows

The outline of the room is drawn from above, with each wall’s length printed along it. Under the drawing is one line: the ceiling height, the floor area and the number of walls. If the ceiling wasn’t caught, it says Ceiling height not measured.

Click Metres or Feet to switch units. The whole drawing changes at once.

It’s enough to answer the questions a recce leaves open: does the dolly track fit, where does the 12x12 go, and how far back can the camera pull before it’s in the hall.

How it’s drawn

The layout traces the open floor of the room, not the walls one by one. It keeps the biggest open area it finds and squares the outline to the room’s own walls. A doorway reads as a gap that gets closed, so a hall doesn’t drag the plan out of the room.

Use it for blocking and fitting. Measure again before you cut anything to size. A scan with a low Tracking score (see What you get back) gives numbers worth less than they look.
