Assigning wardrobe to scenes

From a scene, assign each character present a wardrobe. One costume per character per scene, and that constraint is what makes the assignment a continuity record rather than a list of options.

One costume per character per scene

Assignment happens on the scene, not the wardrobe: open a scene, and each character in it can be given one of that character’s wardrobes. The restriction to one is deliberate. A character wears one thing in a scene, and if they change on screen, that is two scenes.

Once assigned, the pairing is what any scene image generation reads, so a scene generated after wardrobe assignment shows the cast in the right clothes.

Continuity, cheaply

Scenes shoot out of order, and the wardrobe assignment is the record of what should be on the hanger on the day. Because it’s per scene, and the schedule is scenes grouped into days, the information needed to pull costume for a shoot day is already in the project.
