Title page, find, settings and export

Fill in the title page

1. Open it

   Click Title on the format bar. The title page covers the script.

2. Fill in the fields

   The fields are Title, Credit, Author and Source in the middle, Contact at the bottom left and Draft date at the bottom right. The Title is the script’s name in your lists. With no Title, it is Untitled.

3. Close it

   Click Done. The title page prints as the first page of the PDF.

Find and replace

1. Open find

   Press ⌘F or click ⌕. A bar opens at the top with Find and Replace boxes.

2. Find the next match

   Type a word and press Enter, or click Next. Case does not matter. At the end of the script it starts again from the top.

3. Replace

   Type the new word in Replace and click Replace All. There is no replace-one. Press Esc to close the bar.

Jump to a scene

Click ☰ on the format bar. The list shows how many scenes and pages the script has, then each scene by number and heading. Click one to jump there.

Change how the page looks

Click Aa on the format bar.

Setting	What it does
Font	Courier Prime, Courier New, Special Elite or System Mono.
Size	Text size on screen, 11 to 28.
Scene numbers	Shows scene numbers in both margins. The PDF follows this too.
Page gap	Space between pages. At 0 the pages run together.
Backdrop, Paper, Text, Selection	Colors for the space around the page, the page, the words, and the cursor and selection.

Reset puts them all back. These settings are kept in this browser only.

Export

1. Open the menu

   Click Export on the format bar.

2. Pick a format

   Print… opens your browser’s print window. PDF downloads a PDF. Fountain (.fountain) downloads a plain text file any screenplay app can open. Final Draft (.fdx) downloads a Final Draft file.

Each PDF page header shows the revision number and the time. You’ll find the revision and the date in the file name too.

Import

Bringing a file in starts from the start screen’s Import Script button, with the same four file types writing lists. The file is saved right away. An old .fdr Final Draft file will not open. Open it in Final Draft and save it as .fdx first.

Revisions and projects

A revision is a new copy of a script on a project’s Scripts tab.

1. Make a revision

   On the Scripts tab, click New Revision on a draft. The copy gets the next number, such as Rev 2.

2. Open it in the editor

   Click Load in Editor on that row. It opens scoped to scene 1, in the panel along the bottom. Click Full Script to see every page.
