Fields and status

An item records where you'd get something and what it costs. Status runs scouted → reserved → rented, with passed as a deliberate dead end.

The fields

Field What it’s for
Name What the thing is. Be specific; you will be searching this list in three weeks.
Category prop, lighting, grip, camera, vehicle, set dressing, wardrobe, or other. Filters the board by department.
Vendor Free-text name of the rental house or supplier, for when it isn’t a place in your project.
Location Or link a Location instead, and inherit its address and contacts.
Daily rate What it costs per day. Turns the board into a hire budget.
Notes Condition, availability, who you spoke to, what they said about the deal.
Photos The gallery. The reason the tab exists.

Status

Status here is procurement: where you have got to in obtaining the thing. The prep status on a breakdown element is a different question: whether it is ready to shoot.

Status Means Committed?
Scouted Found and photographed. No. Looking only.
Reserved Held with the vendor, not yet collected. Usually yes, since most houses charge for a held booking.
Rented In your possession, on the clock. Yes, and accruing.
Passed Considered and rejected. No. Kept deliberately so nobody re-scouts it.
