Capture in CinemaCrew against the thing you shot it for and it arrives labelled. Everything else lands unfiled and visible to the whole project, which is worth knowing before you assume a photo is private.
A worked example: a continuity problem on day 6
Shoot it in the app, not the camera roll
The script supervisor photographs a wardrobe detail from CinemaCrew. Because it’s captured against the scene, it arrives in Media already labelled with what it is, rather than sitting in an unsorted camera roll.
Find it by source
Filter by source to see only what came from a particular place: chat, errands, scouting, locations, or attached to nothing. Source is a fact about the photo and never changes.
File it into a folder
Create a Continuity folder and move it there. Folders are yours to invent; a photo can go in one regardless of where it came from.
Understand who can now see it
Folders carry the access rule. Once it’s in a departmental folder, it’s visible to that department and to anyone explicitly granted. Left unfiled, it stays visible to the whole project.
Media here is on-set capture, not footage to cut with. It cannot describe a clip precisely enough to edit against. Cuttable footage is Takes and CinemaCutter’s own bin.
