Stages, tabs and help mode

The workspace has three stages: Development, Production and Post-Production. Each shows its own set of tabs, in your own order. Show Help in the project header turns on tooltips for every control on screen.

The three stages

Switch stages from the project header. Same project, same data. What changes is which tabs are surfaced, because you need different things at different times.

Development

The widest set. Script, design, cast, locations, breakdown, boards, schedule, budget: everything you do before a camera rolls.

Production

Shooting-day tabs come forward. Errands and dispatch, Schedule, Call sheets, Shots, Video Village, Takes.

Post-Production

Narrows to what you cut with. Takes, Editing, Cut, Media, Budget and Deals.

The tab strip is yours

The order of tabs in the strip is your saved order, per stage, set in Settings → Stages. Drag them into the order you actually work in and the strip follows.

Team and Data are pinned and can’t be removed. A tab you have no permission to view does not render at all. Not greyed out, absent. A crew member never learns the show has a Deals tab. Newly shipped tabs are merged into your saved order automatically, so a customised strip doesn’t freeze in the past.

The circular logo button at the left of the strip collapses it, which is worth knowing because a collapsed strip looks like a bug the first time you meet it.

Show Help

Press Show Help in the project header. Hovering any control now pops a tooltip explaining what it does, with a Read the guide → link straight to the relevant page here. It is the fastest way to learn a tab you’ve never opened, and it stays on until you turn it off.

Help mode is pointer-driven, so it does nothing on a touchscreen. On a tablet, read the guides directly.

A PRO badge marks something your plan does not cover yet. It sits on six of the tabs above, and on the Production and Post-Production stages themselves. Open any of them and the upgrade is explained there.
