Click any take to open the review modal — a video player on the left with a notes field beneath it, and a sidebar on the right listing every take. Jump between takes from the sidebar, add notes as you watch, and press Escape or click outside to close.
Opening a Take
Click anywhere on a take’s row to play it. The take opens in a full-screen review modal and starts playing automatically (muted, so it won’t surprise a quiet room — unmute with the player’s controls). Playback prefers the copy stored on this device for instant start; for a cloud take with nothing local, the app fetches a streaming link on demand.
The Review Modal
The modal is split into two parts:
Player
A standard video player with play, scrub, and volume controls. Below it sits the take’s full label — shot, camera angle, and take number, e.g. “1A · Wide · Take 3” — and a notes field.
Takes sidebar
A scrollable list of every take (respecting your Circled filter). The one now playing is highlighted. Each entry shows a circle toggle, the shot label, and its take number.
Switching Between Takes
You don’t need to close the modal to compare takes. Click any entry in the right-hand sidebar and the player swaps straight to it — ideal for running down every take of a shot back-to-back to pick the best one. The label and notes field update to match whatever’s playing.
Adding Notes
The Add notes... field under the player is where you record what you thought — “soft focus at the end”, “best performance”, “boom dipped in”. Type your note and press Enter, or click away, to save it. Your note is saved against that specific take, and (once uploaded) it travels with the take in the cloud.
Pressing Escape while the notes field is focused just clears focus — it won’t close the whole modal out from under you.
Closing the Modal
When you’re done, press Escape or click the dark area outside the player. Playback stops and you’re back at the takes list, right where you left off.
