Circling Selects

Circle a take to mark it as a select — a keeper worth cutting with. Click the circle next to a take in the review sidebar to fill it, and use the Circled toggle in the toolbar to narrow the list to selects only. Sort by date or shot to line them up.

What Circling Means

A circled take is the digital version of the circled take on a camera report — the one the director or DP flagged as good on set. It’s your select: the take you’d hand to the editor. Circling doesn’t change or move the footage; it just tags the take so you can find your keepers instantly and skip past the false starts.

How to Circle a Take

Open a take in the review modal and look at the Takes sidebar on the right. Each entry has a small circle to the left of its label:

A hollow outline means the take isn’t circled.
A filled circle means it’s a select.

Click the circle to toggle it — hollow becomes filled to circle the take, and clicking a filled circle again uncircles it. The change saves immediately and, for uploaded takes, syncs to the cloud so the whole team sees the same selects.

Filtering to Circled Only

The Circled button in the toolbar — a circle icon beside the sort control — toggles a selects-only view. Turn it on and the list (and the review sidebar) hides every take that isn’t circled, leaving just your keepers; the button highlights while the filter is active. Turn it off to see everything again.

Sorting Takes

Use the sort control next to the “Takes” heading (on medium and larger screens) to reorder the list:

Date (default)

Orders by when each take was recorded, newest first. Click again to flip to oldest-first and walk the shoot in order.

A→Z

Orders alphabetically by shot label, grouping every take of the same shot together. Click again to reverse.

Your sort choice is remembered between visits.
