Adding & Editing Scenes
Scenes are typically auto-created from script import. Use “+ Add Scene” for supplementary scenes, edit descriptions inline, use Auto-Describe to generate visual descriptions, and assign per-character wardrobes via the tooltip dropdown on each scene row.
Adding a Scene
Click the + Add Scene button at the top of the Scenes tab to open the inline add form. The form includes:
- Scene # (required) — e.g., “1”, “2A”
- Title (optional) — displayed uppercase
- Save / Cancel buttons
Note: scenes are typically auto-created from script import. Manual add is for supplementary scenes not in a screenplay.
Inline Description Editing
Click the description text (or the “Click to add description...” placeholder) on any scene row to enter EditableText mode. Edit the description and press Enter or click away to save.
Auto-Describe
Each scene row has a blue Describe button. Clicking it uses Claude to extract a visual location description from the scene heading context — the setting (INT/EXT), location name, and time of day. The generated description is saved to the scene and used as the prompt for portrait generation. This uses credits.
Wardrobe Assignment
Each scene row displays a teal Wardrobe button for assigning scene-specific costumes to characters. The button is disabled if the character has only one wardrobe (the default). Clicking it opens a tooltip dropdown below the button with the following controls:
- Lists each character in the scene with a wardrobe dropdown
- Select any wardrobe belonging to that character, or “— none —” to unset
- The character’s default wardrobe is shown with a “(default)” label
- The selected wardrobe overrides the default for this scene only
Scene Assignment
Characters appearing in a scene are managed via script import or the Characters tab, not edited directly in the Scenes tab.
