Exporting Your Budget

TL;DR — Click the Export PDF button to download a formatted budget document with department breakdowns and grand total.

Exporting as PDF

  1. 1 Open the Budget tab in your project.
  2. 2 Click Export PDF in the toolbar.
  3. 3 A formatted PDF downloads with your project name, all departments, line items, subtotals, and the grand total.

What’s in the PDF

The exported PDF includes:

  • Project title and export date
  • Each department with its number, name, and subtotal
  • All line items showing description, quantity, unit cost, multiplier, allowance, and line total
  • The grand total at the bottom

Reviewing Before Export

Before exporting, take a moment to:

  • Check for any smart suggestions you haven’t accepted yet — these won’t appear in the PDF.
  • Verify multipliers match your latest schedule (shoot day counts update when the schedule changes).
  • Review allowance percentages — typical production budgets use 5–15% contingency.

Tips for Budget Management

  • Export regularly — save a PDF snapshot each time you make significant changes, so you have a paper trail of budget revisions.
  • Use allowances consistently — apply the same contingency percentage across similar departments for a uniform budget.
  • Update after schedule changes — if shoot days change, verify your multipliers still make sense.
  • Share the PDF with producers, investors, or financiers for budget approval and funding discussions.
